So what do you do for a living? I’m often asked.
I’m a writer, I respond.
A writer. I wasn’t expecting that. So what do you write?
Non-fiction? Like what?
Like what makes our world go round—with information and communication; with marketing and advertising. I write truth (albeit someone’s truth) and I write tight. I call it writing what sells and tells.
Over the years I’ve written magazine and newspaper articles, speeches, posters, billboards, ads, brochures, websites, proposals, and yes, my fair share of internal corporate communications.
I get an adrenaline rush from transforming brain-draining technical material into reader-friendly content. I feast on the chemistry of words; venerate the challenge of creating combustible content. I love what I do.
